Art Tutorial: Peter Rabbit

I’m visiting my cousins in Vancouver in a few days and one of them loves to watch Peter Rabbit. I remember reading Peter Rabbit when I was a little kid so I decided to make a tutorial on him. The tale of Peter Rabbit begins when Peter disobeys his mother’s orders and sneaks into Mr. McGregor’s garden, eating as many vegetables as he can before Mr. McGregor spots him and chases him about. Peter manages to escape, but not before losing his jacket and shoes, which Mr. McGregor uses to dress a scarecrow. Peter returns home weary and ill and is put to bed with a dose of chamomile tea.

Start by drawing the guidelines and body shapes for Peter Rabbit. Sketch out the egg-shaped face and facial guidelines within the face. Then draw out the guidelines for the long ears. Next, draw the dress-shaped guideline for the body and sketch the guidelines for his arms, hands, and feet

Next, draw the lines for Peter’s shirt, face, and ears. Draw in his rabbit eyes. Sketch in the lines of the ears to show where the inside of the ear begin. Start to draw in the fluff of the paws.

Lastly, add long, delicate whiskers to the sides of his face. Finish off the details on the arms, hands, and feet.

Have fun coloring your drawing in and add a nice background to finish off your drawing. I put Peter in Mr. McGregor’s garden. 😀
