Final Fantasy Art Series

Hi guys! Summer is almost here and I am so close to being out of school, and as a result, I will try to be more active on the blog. However, with the end of school looms the daunting shadow of finals, and so I am drawing again to help me de-stress.  I’ve really come to love the art and graphics of Final Fantasy, the incredibly popular JRPG, and am going to start drawing characters from the franchise. So to start, here is the Warrior of Light, from Final Fantasy I.

Art Tutorial: Peter Rabbit

I’m visiting my cousins in Vancouver in a few days and one of them loves to watch Peter Rabbit. I remember reading Peter Rabbit when I was a little kid so I decided to make a tutorial on him. The tale of Peter Rabbit begins when Peter disobeys his mother’s orders and sneaks into Mr. McGregor’s garden, eating as many vegetables as he can before Mr. McGregor spots him and chases him about. Peter manages to escape, but not before losing his jacket and shoes, which Mr. McGregor uses to dress a scarecrow. Peter returns home weary and ill and is put to bed with a dose of chamomile tea.

Start by drawing the guidelines and body shapes for Peter Rabbit. Sketch out the egg-shaped face and facial guidelines within the face. Then draw out the guidelines for the long ears. Next, draw the dress-shaped guideline for the body and sketch the guidelines for his arms, hands, and feet

Next, draw the lines for Peter’s shirt, face, and ears. Draw in his rabbit eyes. Sketch in the lines of the ears to show where the inside of the ear begin. Start to draw in the fluff of the paws.

Lastly, add long, delicate whiskers to the sides of his face. Finish off the details on the arms, hands, and feet.

Have fun coloring your drawing in and add a nice background to finish off your drawing. I put Peter in Mr. McGregor’s garden. 😀

Art Tutorial: Anpanman

Hi guys! I’m finally done with my SAT prep classes for the summer and I’m back with another tutorial! My little cousin’s favorite show to watch is Anpanman so I decided to make a tutorial on how to draw Anpanman since I’ll be visiting my cousins in Vancouver this week. Anpanman is the main character of Soreike! Anpanman whose head is a bun made by Uncle Jam. His name comes from the fact that his head is made of bread filled with red bean paste. This bun is called an anpan.

First, draw a big circle for the head.

Next, draw a smaller circle for the nose and two half-ovals for the cheeks.

IMG_0085

Draw in the eyes, eyebrows, and a huge smile. 🙂

IMG_0086

Next, start drawing the arms by sketching the forearms and fists.

IMG_0087

Next, sketch the cape and the knot of the cape in the front.

IMG_0089

Finish the upper body and then sketch in his belt and smiley face buckle. Then draw the ends of his shirt.

IMG_0090

Finish the sketch by drawing in the legs, feet, and boot lines. Erase any mistakes.

Have fun coloring it in!

Art Tutorial: Amy Rose Cat/Kitty Form

Hey guys I’m back with another art tutorial! Today the tutorial is on Amy Rose from the Sonic the Hedgehog series in cat/kitty form. Amy is known for her unrequited, obsessive love for the series’ main character Sonic, and they have saved each other’s lives on a number of occasions.

First, sketch a big circle for her head and the draw in the facial guidelines. Then draw in the small circular shape for the body.

Next, thicken the shape you drew to structure her face, and then you can sketch in three thick chunks of hair for her bangs. Add the headband and ear.

Sketch in the other ear, and then finish sketching her hair. Add the detail in the inner ear.

photo 3

Sketch the thick, bold shape of her eyes using the facial guidelines, and then sketch the eyeballs and eyelashes. Sketch another circle towards the bottom of the face to create her muzzle. Sketch the nose and mouth inside. Add two whiskers on the side of the muzzle, and then sketch in her bottom lip.

Draw the chest fur and then the two stump-shaped legs. Add some toe lines.

photo 5

Sketch the arch of her back, and then sketch in her tail. Sketch her back leg and add some toe lines to her paw. Erase any mistakes or stray lines.

Lastly, color in Amy!
